Gourcuff Is Ours to Keep (For 4 Years)

By: Jennifer | May 28th, 2009

Yoann Gourcuff signs on to Bordeaux on a 4 year contract!

He says: “I am very pleased to continue the adventure that I engaged with the Girondins. My decision to sign with the FCGB has matured throughout the season.

We managed to create all conditions for a sporting success while fostering true relationships within the group.

I learned a lot when I was at AC Milan and I would also like to thank the players and the trainers of the club with whom I was learning at the highest level.

The trust that Laurent Blanc and my teammates have put in me since the beginning of the season, the ambition of the club for the upcoming season, and the unwavering support of our supporters, made me determined to accept this new challenge, to beyond the purely economic aspects that have not been a priority in my decision. “

Congratulations on the purchase. I’m a milan fan, and I know that our front office just allowed one of europe’s future superstars to get away. Hold on tight!

Now Diarawa, Chamakh, Fernando and Diarra, we must try to retain all our players! Although, I wouldn’t mind upgrading on Fernando.

Didn’t see this coming. I thought Milan were trying to “reuvenate” their squad. But Bordeaux seemes to be the one trying to go in a positive direction.

Is Diarra leaving too? Haven’t heard rumors of his departure.

An upgrade on Diawara, Fernando would be great. But where is the money??

Jennifer, do you know how definite it is that Chamakh wont be returning next season. he is most of the reason why i became a Bordeaux fan and i would still support them if he left but its something i don’t want to see happen…

He’s pretty much definitely leaving if we win the title, but the club hasn’t been determined and the pres doesn’t want him going away to big places i.e. Arsenal. We’ll see. His intention to leave is definite.

There have been a few rumours concerning Diarra (Inter)and Diawara (l’OM and the premiership) but it’s nothing concrete, I think. I know there has been some worry about Bordeaux loosing some of there major stars this summer mercato. But because Gourcuff is staying I think most of our players will follow his lead.

M6 has given us a 25ME transfer kitty, from what I last read. One of Blancs contract demands were that they strengthen the team this mercato and retain Gourcuff. I think most of us are expecting some moves…

Oh, And also the transfer money on Chamakh.

yeah I’ve heard a lot about the Diawara and OM, but not so much about Diarra and Inter. Fernando is probably the next to go along with Chamakh, but that is still a little bit up in the air.

As long as he can reach his full potential unlike in milan I dont care where he playss

anyways, I would have liked to see him at arsenal.
