Trophée des Champions:Bordeaux - Lyon Live Blog
By: Jennifer | August 2nd, 2008Streams are up. WELL, it’s one stream, but better than nothing. Hopefully it will start broadcasting on time, if not I’m screwed. (Good news though, is that the chatroom is filled with some French fans, even if one of them look like a G38 fan. Nonetheless, I won’t be the only on screwed
)
Starting XI:
Lyon: Lloris - Réveillère, Cris, Bodmer, Grosso - Makoun, Toulalan - Delgado, Pjanic, Govou - Benzema
Bordeaux: Ramé - Chalmé, Diawara, Henrique, Jurietti - Fernando, Diarra -Gouffran, Gourcuff, Wendel - Chamakh
-3″: Crap, I don’t think the stream will work………
Okay, Got one now.
(There is a missed Bordeaux penalty around here)
18′ Some vey good play in midfield, Chamakh appears to have hurt Toulalan
26′ Very good shot by Chamakh, what a fantastic pass by Gourcuff..Lloris did well to save.
28′ Free kick by Wendel, saved and makes it all the way back to Ramé
Lyon’s midfield is looking good, Pjanic IS good.
30′ Govou appears to be in pain; Goal kick
I’m really shocked at the lack of attempts by OL. Oh here we go, a good try by Delgado, but saved.
32′ Another freekick, who’s to take it, Wendel or Gourcuff? Wendel, but the ball didn’t work out and is in Bordeaux’s court again. Bordeaux’s throw in
I like this. A lot of good passing but not so adequate finishing..Gourcuff freekick
34′ Look I’m not sure about the time. I CAN’T SEE WITH THIS STREAM. Lloris picked the ball out from in the air. He’s a fantastic keeper. Keep screaming at the defenders ![]()
37′ Yellow for Toulalan, just as expected
38′ GOOD GOD CHAMAKH, we’re on a roll today. Another header and another good save.
39′ Cris and Wendel in a small tussle.
Collision with Chamakh, Cris is touching his right ankle
40′ Benzema seems rather invisible. Govou is doing much more. Toulalan is amazing, arguing with Wendel now.
41′ A Pjanic freekick, FINALLY. Counter attack
Not fast enough but Wendel gets a good save out of Lloris.
43′ Gourcuff misses. I love all the space we’re getting..I don’t think Bodmer makes a good defender. Blanc does not looked pleased. Yellow for Bodmer.
44′ Another freekick to Bordeaux. Wendel’s gonna take it? Yes he does. Cleared again. I know we’re good at these set pieces but Lyon has one hell of a keeper.
45′ Halftime. Chamakh is being interviewed. I CAN HARDLY HEAR WHAT HE’S SAYING. Props though, props. He’s had a great half.
<halftime rant>Oh mannn, they’re playing Arsenal and Juve at halftime. AND EW, JUVE IS UP BY ONE. OMG. WHAT. NASRI IS PLAYING. I’m not going to watch this. There’s nothing more distasteful to watch than those Bianconeri winning.
You know I really see Bordeaux winning this. espescially if they keep Bodmer in that position. I’m concerned with how the backline will be, but no real concerns right now b/c Lyon is not threatening it. Oh, tunnel stuff. Maybe they’ll sub Tafer on *hopes*</rant>
Someone tell me what Pjanic is saying
45′ And we’re back for 2H. I can’t SEE any subs so far. Ramé stumbling for the ball a bit.
47′ Diarra gives away a throw in. 2H is starting off really nicely. OL on the attack, but Jurietti did well to clear, somewhat. Counter attack!! Chalmé with a run up…didn’t work out. (As in OMFG it was so close.)
47′ Passing is not as great now, that or OL is getting better at intercepting. OHHHHH SO CLOSE, CHAMAKH. Another fantastic save from Lloris.
51′ Lyon has a good attack but Benzema goes too far. Lyon corner, cleared by Henrique…another one by Pjanic.
52′ Offside, Bodmer thinks he scored ![]()
54′ Jurietti FK. I think it’s great that we are doing more in their half, but FINISHING!!! They need to finish.
55′ Grosso’s hair, I want to cut it.
56′ Pace is slowing down a bit, ohhh Chalmé over the crossbar.
58′ OL on the attack. Diawara cleared, but conceded a corner. Do I think Pjanic should be taking the corner? Juninho might be better at that.
62′ Chamakh is really impressive, did I say that already? Really.
63′ Puel does not look happy on the bench. I wouldn’t be either.
64′ Solo effort by Benzema, just wide of the goal.
65′ I SEE DOMENECH IN THE STANDS. PLEASE CALL UP GOUFFRAN&GOURCUFF AGAINST SWEDEN.
66′ Chaos in Bordeaux’s penalty area. Backline closed the space down nicely, still concerned about them. Benzema falls so easily. Oh please.
67′ Really good run by Réveillère. Diawara did a nice sliding tackle to defend. They’re starting to find space and attack now, but they really can’t get the cross in.
70′ CAVENAGHIIIIII on for Diarra. ♥♥♥ (Yes, that was called for.) Someone who can finally finish, I hope.
71′ Is that Baros warming up? 3 strikers up front for OL? Yes, he’s going to come on for Pjanic.
72′ Too much space for OL’s strikers to work in. OBERTAN!!!!!!!!!!!! On for Gouffran. I want to see some dribbling stat.
73′ Okay, I was right, defending is rather shabby. Blanc is also concentrating more on attack now, with 3 up front. I think this could mean less possession for us, albeit the midfield passing and what not.
75′ Freekick for OL, taken by Benzema. Grosso on a corner. A collision of heads in the area. Gourcuff and…Makoun. I hope they’re okay..
76′ Ramé is forced into more saves now and the attack are getting quieter. Getting quite tired now, but Jurietti still working hard.
80′ Obertan is really fast.
82′ OH GOURCUFF. SO CLOSE!!! A good cross in but Chamakh misses and Gourcuff sends it over the cross bar. Bellion coming on for Chamakh.
82′ 3 fresh strikers…really looking for it. Fernando yellowed for grabbing Govou.
83′ OMG KIM…I MEAN KALLSTROM IS COMING ON. FOR Delgado.
84′ Henrique yellowed for pushing Baros. I know no one likes Baros, but giving away a FK is too much. OMG KIM AND FABIO ARE TALKING. Kallstrom takes the FK, but saved. Corner now for Kallstrom again, a good ball in but tipped by Ramé over the crossbar.
85′ Kallstrom is having a good showing. I hope he gets some time the next season. OHHH SO CLOSE!!!!!!! Baros, SO CLOSE. The ball just slides away from his feet.
87′ Benzema falls on his face. Oddly amusing.
92′ I can’t tell what minute it’s on again. Gourcuff fouled and wins a freekick.
Penalties
Cavenaghi - SAVED (NOOOOOOO FERNANDOOOOOOO)
Benzema - Scored
Fernando - Scored
Bodmer - Scored
(why is this so intense)
Wendel - Scored
Kallstrom - Scored
Bellion - Saved; Bravo Lloris
Govou - SAVED!! RAME MY HERO, ALMOST.
Gourcuff - Scored
Grosso - Hahaha, famous one against France. Here we go. RAME YES YES YES!!!!!!!!!! SAVED!!!!!!
Jurietti - Scored
Toulalan - Scored
Diawara - Scored
Cris - RAME!!!!!!!!!! FANTASTIC!!!!! SAVED.
Great, they cut out the celebrating and the fancy mini-party. I do think Bordeaux deserved to win, even if they would not score. Definitely dominated most of first half and some of second half. Lyon was unlucky not to get a goal (that Baros slip was so bad). This is a good omen for the season to come. Maybe Lyon’s reign will finally end ![]()

How outrageous! The stream is showing Benfica-Liverpool!

I can’t believe Bordeaux already scored. GRR.
Also, I can’t believe that Gloria Bistrita - Universitatea Craiova has more links than Bordeaux - Lyon. I am SO PISSED that the LFP shut down soccers.fr streaming. That was the only way for most people to watch french football outside of France.

Caio just posted this link on my blog. Really bad quality though.

Inara - do I understand you can’t get Ligue 1 matches now? Let me know please because maybe I can figure out a way to help on this tech wise.

yay I rock!

This is not L1, so none of the regular places are broadcasting. 12 minutes of pure panic and something finally posted a working link. THANK GOD.Posted from

Chamakh said to the interviewer that he felt they had a very good preparation, with most of the team present from the beginning, which explains their good display in the first half. He’s not happy with the 0-0 but admitted that tonight’s game is not a big priority, the top priority being to be ready for next week.

Yay thanks

But a trophy is good nonetheless, and beating OL is even better

j - the LFP threatened to shut down the biggest french streaming site if they continued to post links to games, so now it’s really hard to get links. If you know of a way, that would be really appreciated.

What a shot by Chamakh, impressive.

Just WHY did Puel put Bodmer in CB? Even the liveblog at football365.fr are saying this was a bad choice.

It’s kind of dumb. I don’t think he can defend, really. I mean it’s not like OL is missing any defenders…….

PENALTIES!!!
I worry. I think Lloris is a better gk but he’s less experienced.

Ramé isn’t great at Penalties, usually.

Yeaaaa. Bordeaux win. Finally Lyon’s domination is ending slowly. Now OM will take the title.

Yes, that was good. I would DIE the day OM wins another title. Really. As if they haven’t bragged about their CL victory enough.

Congratulations Bordeaux!
for anyone who usually gets their bordeaux league games streamed…is the quality allways as bad as the one given today??
Posted from
United States

The friendly I caught of OM - Bordeaux was this bad. But usually if it’s a league game there are *hopefully* more and better streams. Depending on where you are you can also get them on TV too.
