Bordeaux Fall to PSG
By: Jennifer | August 17th, 2008PSG 1 - 0 Bordeaux
52′ Hoarau
After a good home win in Caen last week, Bordeaux didn’t fare so well in their first away game in Paris. Even though Bordeaux was the better of the two teams, the scoreline holds and a loss is a loss. Having more shots on goal simply doesn’t mean a win. Some great work from Cavenaghi, Gourcuff and Wendel in terms of going for goal, but the finishing simply wasn’t there and these shots did not convert. The PSG goal came from a rare mistake made by Chalmé, who is usually as solid as a rock back there. They played well, but they just didn’t have the luck to win this.

I tried to find one but didn’t manage to :/
I ended up listening to it on the radio, but that doesn’t help much
The good thing is they played nicely, so I’m not really worried on the long term. Games like this one always happen here and there.Posted from

Also, I see people already getting tired of Gouffran because he tries but never scores goals.. only after 2 games. But he played well in the past and sure has some skills, I would bet anything he’s going to find his pace during the season. Could be next week, could be in 6 months, that’s the risk you take when you hire young players.

I tried so hard but ended up following the live commentaries ): But no worries, it’s only the second match of the season. It’s best to make mistakes now than later when the race gets tighter. Set, I agree with you on Gouffran..he definitely has the talent and I’m pretty sure he will deliver. Besides, buying him is like investing for the future, Gouffran was definitely a long term purchase as opposed to Placente being a short term replacement.
Omar, I was so close to pulling my hair out looking for streams. And again, next week, Bordeaux won’t be on TV AGAIN. Argh.

Blanc must be pretty frustrated at his side not being able to convert possession into goals. Think they had 67% possession in both halves.
I think Bordeaux’s biggest problem in this game was not having a real winger. Gouffran is suffering out on the right and well the only real width you get down that side is with Chalme.
Good thing to come out of this game for Bordeaux fans is that Gourcuff is really back and is showing great class already.

That goal is brutal — so much space, with three people watching. What a disappointment to player better than lose on lapse like that.
[Open bold tag somewhere, everyone's shouting!]
