3 POINTS CLEAR

By: Jennifer | May 17th, 2009

(yeah, I’m bring back the first trophy this season to celebrate.)
Lyon beats OM 3-1 to give us a breather at the top and even more hope for the title.

Let’s consider the games left to play.
Bordeaux has to play:
AS Monaco – Monaco hasn’t been in terrific form lately, and was even in relegation for a while, but they seem to have risen from that and will probably not be relegated. They’re dealing with some coach issues. In the past three games they drew once (with VAFC) and lost twice (Sochaux and AJ Auxerre).

Caen – Overall speaking, Caen is a weaker team. They’re only a point away from the relegation zone. They’ve done fairly well in the last 3 games with two wins (Le Mans and Sochaux) and a loss to Rennes. They would want to keep their form and prevent relegation, and according to their latest form, this will probably the tougher of the two games.

Marseille’s last two games are:
Nancy- Their last 3 games all ended with draws, but this is a team to be reckoned with. I don’t doubt that OM will lose since they will be striving to get over this set back.

VAFC – VAFC powered over a struggling Lyon 3 games ago, put up a good fight against Bordeaux and tied with Monaco this weekend. They have a good players from the relegated Lens FC, but will not hold as a struggled to OM either.

What I think:
the difficulty of both Bordeaux’s and OM’s next two games are around the same, and as long as les Girondins continue their form and their drive, the title should not be out of reach. (Especially with a recovering Cavé and Jussiê, seeing as we will need to score as many goals as possible.) A title will probably also propel Gourcuff to a decision of staying with Bordeaux.

How to secure the title:
By next week: Bordeaux wins and OM either draws or loses. Bordeaux can afford a draw and a win and still win the title.

OM’s last match is against Rennes. Rennes will definitely fight hard as their European qualification is at stake.

OM just shot themselves today! Idiots!

I hope Monaco somehow manage to beat Bordeaux or at least take a point. Monaco does have knack of springing surprises. And Bordeaux have been letting in goals quite easily in the last few fixtures!

Please no repeat of 98/99 season!

Croatia is looking to lure Sertic to their camp. Apparently Slaven Bilic (♥) and Srebric in the Croatian Football Association are impressed with his performance of late. He’s been playing in the France Espoirs but because he’s under 19, he can still make the decision to play for Croatia. His dad is proud if Gregory would play for Croatia but leaves it up to him.

Also, Gourcuff is said to be demanding 300,000 euros a month vs. the 175,000 euros he earns now. Triaud isn’t very confident that Bordeaux can keep him…

that stinks about gourcuff…i would much rather be the star of a good team then an extra on a better team. If he goes to an EPL team then he has Nasri writtin all over him. i dont think nasri even gets called up anymore

Well, I can see where he’s coming from though. Say he goes to Bayern. Chances are, he will have similar playing time compared to Bordeaux (once he establishes himself) and he will probably be paid a lot better than we can pay him.

Poor Nasri….I don’t know why he agreed to go. Technically he didn’t accomplish much at OM.

Aulas has this to say to Sud-Ouest:
S-O: Fernando seems ready to leave Bordeaux …

JMA: It is not just him, no? Chamakh too.

S-O: But he seems to prefer England …

JMA: Well, to go in England you can always make a trip to Lyon! More seriously, I always liked Chamakh. At the time we wanted to recruit him, Bordeaux had clearly refused. But things can change. In any case, we will strengthen. And perhaps once the championship is finished, we can do business

Let’s just say that that won’t happen, or my ass will be on a plane to Bordeaux to slap him senseless.

Fernando is looking for a move to Spain and Ramé will be able to play in 2 weeks at Caen!

there is no way we can generate that kind of income. that would definitely discompose our books, and on top of that it would most probably unsettle the dressing room.

Fernando Menegazzo will be leaving this summer, he retains his desire to leave . He said Spain interests him a lot because of the culture and Italy has always been a an option for him.
