Transfer Season Begins
By: Jennifer | June 7th, 2009
The biggest goal for Bordeaux this transfer season is to nap the signature of that one Yohann Pelé. Blanc had him on his radar for the longest time, probably since last season. It seems now that our biggest rivals are no other than Manchester United. RMC reports that Pelé’s agent have received an offer from United, and they are going into talks about the contract and details come Monday.
This probably means that Bordeaux might not be able to sign him, seeing that Pelé himself has a preference for the Premier League, but ultimately it depends on how much United wants him. They are planning on replacing Van de Saar, but they are probably tracking other keeps as well (these I have no idea about; I’m no United fan). If they are keen about Pelé though, there’s no doubt that they will outbid Bordeaux, considering our current financial condition (after Gourcuff)
As well, Fernando is expected to leave and Blanc is looking at Yohan Cabaye from Lille to succeed him. (His interest in Yoan/Yoann/Yohan/Yohanns intrigues me). Personally I think that Cabaye is one of the best players at Lille (I also like de Melo), and he would be a fantastc successor for Fernando. Besides, it would be really interesting to see a squad half filled with various spellings of Yoanns. The only other thing is that Arsenal is also reportedly interested in him (but Goal.com?). Then again, they’re interested in every other young Frenchman in France.
On the line of Chamakh, he’s now saying that his promise to say at Bordeaux was only spur of the momenet, accordingly to the atmosphere of that day. He’s still bent on England, but we can only hope that he does not go to Arsenal.
Also, the dates for next season are out, so check them out and mark on your calenders! Bordeaux’s opening game is against Lens, promoted again from L2.

I will be really pissed if we don’t sign him, Iv’e been expecting us to make a real attempt to sign him for a while know.
I have herd nothing about who is to succeed Chamahk — I think we all knew Chamakh wasn’t going to stay, two days before the final match he reconfirmed his desire to leave. I think many people knew he was going to leave. Back to what I was saying, Erding was our only transfer target to succeed Chamakh and he’s pretty much set to go to PSG.
Are we going to sign Jeremy Matthieu or what? I really am not the biggest fan or Wendel…
I think Cabaye is likely to be depth behind Bourcuff, I doubt he’ll be a direct replacement to Fernando.
Fernando is a CM/DM while Cabaye is CM/AM.We may also loose Diawara… I’m really getting worried, I hope he stays but at age 31 he may not be worth the fight (150 000 euros a per month, which is quite a significant pay raise) it may be better to find someone younger.

@ Matt: Diego Lopez your talking about? He’s a very good goal keeper, actually. He is definitely better than Y.Pele.

I also know that Bordeaux is tracking Ospina from Nice. He’s a good player too.

Why aren’t we doing anything, we’ve been linked to so many players but haven’t shown any concrete interest in any one of them. What the hell happened with Jeremy Mathieu, he’s free on bosman, same with Pele!

I heard that Valencia is also looking at Mathieu. Blanc has been on to Mathieu for so many seasons now..
(Bordeaux plays Montréal Impact July 28th. :O)
