Placente Presented
By: Jennifer | July 28th, 2008
Not impressed because my post was just eaten. Well here we go again. I hope you’re not tired of seeing these Placente posts, I promise, this will be one of the last (this month) with that title. Mostly due to my failure to catch the game against Lorient (the blame of which I place on the lack of streams and Inter.) However, Gourcuff scored and had another brilliant game against his dad’s team, showing us why he went to Milan in the first place. Also Cavenaghi also returned and lighted up the whole field with his brilliant smile (this could be just me.)
On to more Placente involved matters, he was presented today and gave his first press conference in Spanish. He went on to outline some of his excellent qualities (“I can play central defender, I have already evolved to the post. However, I prefer to play on the left side. I can also render services to the midfielder.”). He also mentions that one of the reasons he chose Bordeaux is the opportunity to play in the Champions League, and also because of the encouragement of fellow Argentine Cavenaghi (they not only played together in River Plate, but also saw each other during vacations.)
Here’s a clip from the presentation/presser.

*bangs head against desk*
I was hoping it would take Gourcuff more time to adjust. Not to make Bordeaux immediately competitive.
Damn.

I was expecting him to be good, but not THIS good. I think his dad made a good decision by sending him to Bordeaux. I’ll miss Wendel’s freekicks though ):
