He isnt unknown, he had some decent season with Leverkuesen and then with Celta Vigo. He isnt great, but he wouldnt be more then a rotational player anyways.

As for Argentines at Bordeuax, one must not forget Cristian Peruchini, the little attacking midfielder.

Yikes. An unknown, 31-year-old Argie doesn't sound that promising.

Ofir: Francia has been in Argentina for a while now, but the reasons why are unsure since there's been no official announcement about it. It's probably personal. He still has a contract with the club but is not paid, of course.

Inara: That's exactly what they're trying to do. They invested money in the construction of a football academy called Proyecto Crecer. The academy is a subdivision of the club and as such, Bordeaux has priority to recruit young players from there, for no transfer fee. The only player from there who made it to the first team for now is Juan Pablo Francia.

Another Argentine in the ranks (though hopefully one of a better caliber) would be interesting in terms of Bordeaux's identity. Lyon have their collection of Brazilian impact players, Marseille their Africans, perhaps Bordeaux are trying to become an attractive proposition for young/unknown talent from Argentina, especially when there are already several others within the ranks. It's something that would give Bordeaux a huge boost in recruitment because that would open up an entire country's resources almost exclusively to them in France.

I was hoping they'd sign Silvestre. It's too bad they weren't able to come to an agreement with him.

Ahhh! I forgot about Alonso. I was a bit caught up in some of his transfer rumours too. Placente isn't good? He sounds like another Argentine (Burdisso). We REALLY need someone solid to replace Jemmali. I really hope we land Mathieu before the window ends.

I actually don't have a clue. I'll have to ask set. I haven't seen him around in training though..(maybe I'm just not looking hard enough.)

Oh please no, I don't want Placente. I'm half Argentine but I don't like this player at all. He is an average defender who makes one big mistake per game.

Although his price is only 1 million euro, I'm sure it's possible to find a better player, or play with Marange, who can be as average as Placente.

Speaking about Argentines (don't forget we have Alonso too), what happened to Francia? He disappeared last season, but as far as I know he still belongs to us. Where is he? Not that I miss him, but he is too young to disappear like that...
