After The Win
By: Jennifer | May 31st, 2009
Everybody loves Hexagol.
Yeah, this title is never going to end..at least for a while. Here are some photos and videos from the trophy presentation and some locker room stuff. One pretty big thing happened at the presentation. Chamakh, when asked about his future, said “Je reste”. Now everyone is debating on whether he’s actually staying or if he was just joking to make the 20000 odd fans happy (the first video below). There have also been some trouble with the celebrations last night. Some fans were arrested and I think a 40 year old man has died.
All that false hope. He better not go around breaking hearts now.
Jean Louis Triaud (who will now be referred to as JLT) thanks the supporters (I really think they’re going to break poor Hexagol by the end of this.)
More celebrations and chants and stuff ensue.

I love this picture to no ends.

Gourcuff blinded by the shining brilliance that is the Hexagol.

Craziness last night.

BTW, you really notice how old Ramé is when he says that football now is not like football in 1999 (he was with the winning squad then too). That’s 12 years of service.

He’s the soul survivor from the 1999 squad that won it.
I’m such an idiot every week I say I’m going to buy a maillot de Bordeaux but I still haven’t. I’m going to do it right now.
Jussie #10 or Gourcuff #8?
Thanks for the vids Jennifer. Have you purchased your tickets to watch Bordeaux in Montreal next summer vs. Montpellier, if I’m correct?

Congratulations to Bordeaux, you worked hard and got it!
And P.S. after reading your live blog of the match, jennifer, I REFUSE to believe that Lashes Gourcuff walked around without shorts and NO ONE got a photo. I WILL NOT believe it! (The photo hunt is on!)

Happy to see Bordeaux walk away with the title and just about everything else domestically this season. Can’t say I really watch French football frequently enough to have “a team” but having family living in Bordeaux and having been there on a few occasions I guess they’re as close as it gets.
Congrats!

Anicho M: Guingamp not Montpellier won the French Cup. How can you not know French Cup winners??

Congratulations!!! Bordeaux was the best team this season in France. Good luck in CL. Lyon will join you after qualification rounds.

Anicho: PERSONALLY, I would have gotten Chamakh, but yes Gourcuff would be a good choice.
(No I haven’t. I’m still trying to figure out how to get there, since it’s a 6 hour drive to Montréal from Toronto and I can’t drive. The tickets are so cheap too!)
Ehh, I can’t find tickets on ticketmaster or any of the usual places..I hope they’re not sold out.
mary: I saw it with me own eyes. It was about 3 seconds after he came off, changing into another kit probably..

Aaron: Yeah, I know, but my brother is a big fan of Jussie (he’s 10)
Aditya: Lol, I dunno, I’m quite embarrassed… Montpellier is back which is great news! Will you be going to see the game?
Jennifer: I ordered a blank one, with nothing on the back. You could always take the greyhound(couch bus) or even the train, I prefer trains tho.
Here’s a link, I think there a lot left: http://www.admission.com/html/error.htmI?l=FR&err=107I want to go to the Zidane friendly but the only remaining seats are quite expensive.

Yay, tickets. Hopefully I’ll be able to go, once I figure things out. I don’t really want to go by myself. I hope they don’t sell out fast and I’ll be able to catch one once July rolls around.
